Fat Loss Laser Tool

Fat-loss-laser “Zerona,” the noninvasive, weight loss laser is pending FDA approval, but I thought I’d give you an advanced preview of what it is supposed to do...

The Zerona claims to “activate the release of fat from adipose tissue, which is then absorbed by the lymphatic system and removed from the body.”

The cost of this procedure is $500 per session and 6 treatments are typically needed.

Although no one knows the long-term potential side-effects of this laser I wonder if this product will be in high-demand.

If cost wasn’t an issue would you try out this experimental procedure?

I'm glad we can all at least agree that you must change your eating/lifestyle habits if you truly want to see permanent results...

Thanks for your comments!

I would consider it after doing more research. However, I have to agree with the previous two posts: unless you change your eating/lifestyle habits, all the surgery in the world won't help you lose weight. I had a tummy tuck and liposuction done a few years ago. I falsely thought it was a carte blanche to eat what I wanted. Well, I gained weight, of course, so last year I started weight watchers and have reached my goal. Now I think I have a beautiful body as a result of both the surgery and taking better care of myself. For me, it was worth it and I would do it again. If this Zerona surgery is less invasive, then all the better. But for those of you considering any of these kinds of surgeries, remember that that is only about 1/4 to 1/3 of the issue. The rest is up to you.

I agree with msjuju. Without some sort of behavioral modification, the fat is just going to come back. This is just one more easy way out for those people that are too lazy to follow the "2nd Law of Thermodynamics" diet.

This seems like a sci-fi film. I can't help but think that people would put the weight right back on over time.

If our weight is a balance of calories/energy in and energy out, and the number of calories you burn stays the same (or drops) but you eat the same # of calories as before, then wouldn't your weight (or fat level) gradually climb back up to where it was before the laser procedure?

It seems like the newest magic bullet and I unconvinced.

Did laser on my eyes so why not my fat. I guess it all depends on the details.
