Body-Image Issues
A recent study consisting of 571 women who exercise at health clubs found a link between the type of exercise you do and the way in which you view your body.
The study found that women who spent more time on an individual cardio machine were more likely to be concerned with body image disorders than their counterparts who engaged in more mind body exercises.
Some of these exercises consisted of taking aerobic classes, weight training, and yoga.
The researchers conclude that by looking more inward through these activities and not just doing cardio the women were able to see how exercising brought them better mental health and calmness rather than just focusing solely at the weight issue.
