Choosing a Realistic Weight

J0341439 Since the first of the year is almost upon us I've been discussing things to consider when you are determining your weight loss goal. One thing to look at is the BMI and calorie calculations which should be your first priority when considering weight loss.

One other very important thing I think a person really needs to examine seriously when determining a goal weight is how well you can actually maintain a weight loss given your lifestyle. In other words you don't want to constantly be worried every single day about what you are eating in order to maintain. Or you just may never ever get to an unrealistic goal to begin with.  Trying to maintain too low a weight only leads to discouragement and frustration. And in the end you’d probably gain the weight back anyway. You usually can't go back to your high school weight when you are 40 or 50.
