Planning for Thanksgiving Day

One important thing to remember on Thanksgiving is to eat breakfast and lunch. You might think that skipping these meals will allow you to eat more at your Thanksgiving feast, but what will most likely happen is that you will overeat on high-calorie and high-fat foods.

You don't have to eat huge meals for breakfast and lunch - just enough to keep you satisfied until dinner time. Make sure to have some lean protein, veggies or fruit, and whole grains at both meals.

Here are some easy to make ideas:

For Breakfast:
whole grain crackers with almond butter and a banana or strawberries
scrambeld egg whites with spinach on whole grain bread
low-fat yogurt with fruit and cereal

For Lunch:
a colorful salad with chick peas or kidney beans and olive oil and vinegar dressing
steamed vegetables with tofu and brown rice
vegetable soup with whole grain crackers
