Is the scale stuck?

Scale If your scale is not moving in the direction you want it to there could be many reasons. If you happen to be at a plateau or just in a rut here are some tips from Web MD that can help you get yourself back in the weight-loss game.

1. Don't assume that something labeled "healthy" is low in calories. Always check your nutrition label to see how many calories are in a serving.
2. Step it up - take the stairs, park far away or walk to your co-workers desk instead of emailing. All of these extra steps add up and help burn calories. Just 6 5-minute walks a day can burn 100 calories - that can equal a 10 pound weight loss in a year!
3. Don't drink your calories. Read the label before you drink - many of the new designer waters have extra calories that you may not be looking for.
4. Get your 7-8 hours of sleep - Too much or too little sleep can lead to weight gain.
5. Don't always give into your cravings. Take a look and see what is behind your desire for chocolate or salt and if you do have to give in make the portions small.
6. Keep up with your exercising. Taking a break sets you back so when you get back into it you can't work at the same level and then you are burning less calories.
7. Don't cut out your carbs. It is not carbs that cause weight gain - it is the over consumption of calories. So make sure you fill up on nutrient dense fruits and vegetables so you feel full and eat less.
8. Listen to your body and stop eating when you are full. Don't let external cues, such as others eating with you or the TV, cause you to eat more than your body needs.
9. Get support - have a buddy who is going to support your weight loss not hinder it.
10. Don't work out too hard that you end up quitting. Start slow and build you way up - and don't forget to enjoy the cool-down at the end of your workout.
11. Address your stress with out food - take a walk, call a friend, meditate or listen to calming music.
