Eating Healthy and Putting the "Freeze on Food Costs"
Recently I saw in the paper where freezers are making a come back as the cost of food goes up. It's interesting considering that the rest of the home appliance sector has gone down in sales by eight percent. The main idea is if you have a freezer you can buy in bulk and literally put a "put a freeze" on food costs, something we all want to do these days.
I've actually been doing this for years. Even though my children are gone, my hubby and I still shop in bulk, cook, and freeze. We'll usually cook a few meals on the weekend and then pull things out during a hectic work week. (I commute 80 miles a day so the last thing I want to do is make a healthy meal from scratch when I get home, nor does my husband want to wait to eat at nine at night!) We have found that grains, pasta, and even potatoes freeze pretty well right along with the chicken, pork, beef, bean dishes, or casseroles. When I get home all I have to think about is filling the meal in with fresh veggies or a salad.
You eat healthier, save time, you are less stressed, and you save money. You have your own "frozen dinners' without the calories, preservatives, high sodium and meager taste. It just doesn't get any better than that! All it takes is a little planning and shopping on a regular basis. And of course having a freezer that can accomodate extra food.

I must tell you that when my family decided to implement a frozen food plan a huge change befell every aspect of our family. We ate healthier, we were able to spend more time together, and the time spent preparing the frozen dinners as a family really acted as a bonding experience.
