Another New Diet Book
I am sure we do not need another diet book, but The Denim Diet by Kami Gray (which will be out in the spring of 2
009) just caught my eye. In this book Kami shares 16 habits you can change which will help you fit into your perfect pair of jeans. I am not sure that any of her habits are new, but I like her statement "even the bathroom scale won't tell you the whole truth, a pair of jeans will never lie."
Using a pair of jeans or pants as a guide is sometimes a more useful tool in managing weight loss than the scale. If you are exercising, along with watching what you eat, your body is changing and becoming leaner. The end result is that you have become thinner and are now fitting better in smaller clothing sizes even thought the scale has not moved much.
Here are some of tips from The Denim Diet...
- Drink water, coffee, tea and use skim milk
- Avoid foods with artificial ingredients
- Eat whole grain, high fiber, low glycemic carbohydrates
- Start off your day with breakfast
- Eat a small snack when you are hungry so you don't over eat later
- Watch portion sizes
- Get active
Have you ever used clothing as a guide for weight loss?
Do you have a pair of skinny jeans waiting for you?
What are other ways you monitor you weight loss besides the scale?

The article is right on point. I have more to add but you can find it in my new book - Snack Yourself Slim at www.buypatential.com/book. Basically, you need to snack all the time and just forget about meals - you don't have to go hungry, have to give up your favorite foods or feel like you are on a diet.
