Exotic Fruit - Part 2

Permission Yesterday, I started a list of exotic fruits that would be good additions to your diet. Here are some more for you to look out for...

Guava is usually sold unripe because they can bruise easily. Let them ripen, cut open and just remove the seeds and enjoy!

Lychees have a red, bumpy shell and are about the size of a walnut. Peel off the shell and there is a white pulp that surrounds a seed. Discard the shell and seed and enjoy the meat of the lychee.

Ugli Frui looks like a lumpy green grapefruit. You can peel it and eat it like an orange or slice it in half and eat it like a grapefruit - the flavor is sweet and tangy. You can use the Ugli in place of other citrus fruits in recipes.

Persimmon is tomato shaped and can be dark or light orange. The dark orange persimmon should be ripe and soft before eating the inside pulp. Light orange persimmons can be eaten when firm or ripe.
