Weight Loss Tips, Motivation - 1
Reader's frequently write in wanting to know how to lose weight. I would encourage you to go into my blog from April 30th for the core basics of weight loss. The next few days I am going to focus on other significant tips for weight loss.
Fine tune your motivation: I mention this first because even though you may be motivated to lose weight right now, down the road it usually wanes.
- Always maintain a positive attitude regardless of mistakes – you can if you think you can. And as I discussed in just yesterday's blog, losing weight is about adopting a healthy lifestyle, not just a DIEt.
- Visualizations/Affirmations – follow the Law of Attraction, I personally endorse Michael Losier's version of it as it's easier to implement. And then really taking a full minute or two every single day to awaken your thoughts and feelings about what you want from your weight loss. It's also important to keep your focus consistent. Try picking a different motivator each day so they stay fresh and alive.
- Rewards – you need to "dangle that carrot in front of the horse." And you need to do it often. No I'm not talking about food rewards! Many people say they already reward themselves. Well don’t, not until you achieve your goals for the week/month. Positive reinforcement works. Beating yourself up doesn't.
Readers please share your thoughts on motivation. Tomorrow I'll discuss some specifics about food intake for losing weight.
