Easy Diet Changes for Weight Loss

Joy Bauer, MS, RD, CDN shared on The Today Show, earlier this week, some easy diet changes that you can make for weight lossEatin_healthy. By making these changes you can have a weight loss of up to 5 pound in just one month!

Here, on the ND Blog, Elaine, Steve and I have all discussed making some of these simple modification to your diet. I wanted to share this video clip from the show because it will give you a visual of what 5 pounds of fat looks like and there are real food items, along with proper servings, so you can see where and how these changes can be made.

Here is a quick run-down of the simple changes you can make:

Beverages - Lose high calorie beverages such as soda, coffee drinks and fruit juices.

Dairy - Lose full fat dairy. Chose low-fat, reduced-fat and fat free instead.

Salads - Lose regular salad dressings. Ask for oil and vinegar (on the side) or just use fresh lemon juice.

Starches - Lose the starch with you dinner. Double up on your vegetables instead.

Keep reading the ND posts for more on diet changes, motivation, and exercise tips to help you work on your weight loss goals.
