Diet or Healthy Food Plan?

J0438680 Many a diet fails simply because there is a diet mentality attached to it. Instead design your food plan as an outline for healthier eating. You don’t want to be calling it a "diet" (look at what the first three letters spell). When you call it this all the time you fall into the "on and off" type of thinking which throws you off track. (It also makes it sound too restrictive and unachievable in any given lifestyle.) It's along the same lines as trying to be perfect all the time. This is especially true if you've been on numerous "diets" and failed before.

Remember food is really difficult to make "perfect" even in the best of circumstances. That's what all the "off and on" mentality is about. Perfection is a moving target. Instead go for "progress not perfection," which is much more attainable.  When you strive to eat healthier you should be losing weight.
