Courage to Lose Weight - 2
Yesterday I discussed the courage it takes to lose weight, which is not something you might think of when you are implementing a diet to lose weight. But the more you think of all the challenges of losing weight the more you may realize just how important courage really is.
Courage is developing and utilizing all your inner resources to face the magnitude of weight loss challenges head-on around your food.
Where do you get this courage? You get it by going into the inner reserve of your mind and realizing you really CAN accomplish this goal! You have to start truly believing you really are more powerful than all the circumstances around you. You have to believe you are stronger than the food.
Courage is also the ability to face the challenge and to see clearly what you really do want. How do you view your challenges? How they look to you depends on how big or small you are when facing that challenge.
Develop belief in yourself. If you think you can, you can!
Readers where do you get your courage to lose your weight?

Hi Lilly, I am sorry to hear about your struggles. I was once there myself but I never gave up and I finally made it! I have a hunch you might be beating yourself up too much when you get off track. You probably need to really forgive yourself immediately and get back on track the very next day! You are human, be brave and get back on the saddle. You can do it. And, as our other reader suggested, do it one day at a time. Every day is a new day to do better. Learn from your mistakes and get help if you need it. Keep me posted as to how you are doing!

I am a lifetime yo-yo dieter. I am 55 years old and I am ashamed that I do not have the inner resolve to change my eating habits for good. I have lost as much as 80 lb on a diet only to gain it back again. It takes a lot for me to get started and then something clicks in my brain and I can do it, but it seems only for a few weeks. At the beginning I am thrilled with the results and feel so proud of myself and it doesn't seem hard at all to follow the plan. Then pow! Just as suddenly I am back at square one. i am not sure what happens. The last time it was a trip to visit my son and his family for a week. I got off track and couldn't seem to get back on. That was at Easter and I am still trying to get control again. I have just found this web site and I am going ot see if it can help me get motoviated. Thank for your imput.

I am trying to fight the good fight. I just started trying to lose. I dropped 10 pounds easily, but now it seems as though nothing. I am working out and eating well, and so I guess my courage to lose comes down to looking at it one day at a time. Everyday is a new day to do better, be better than I was yesterday. Live stronger.
