Skill Power not Willpower

J0438795 A lot of credit is given to the notion of willpower but willpower is only just that. In reality you need to develop skills too to handle most diet situations.

For example you had a long holiday weekend. Maybe you didn’t do very well. But that weekend had been planned weeks ago, so what really happened? You said you just had to have the chips and dip and then lost control.

It usually has to do with not planning ahead adequately, not because you lacked willpower. Did you bring any other food options available to choose from? Could you have brought some? Could you have even prepared some low fat dip and have a small amount of chips especially if you also had some veggies or fruit to nibble on? Did you have lunch when you were supposed to or did you just skip it because you were in a hurry and not paying attention to your own needs. This is what skill power is and it can go a long way in tempting occasions.
