A hearty high-fiber salad

Salads are great for lunch and can also be a nice, easy meal to have for dinner. Making sure that you are satisfied after your salad is just as important as the ease in preparing it. Mediterranean Salad, which has 8 grams of fiber and 12 grams of protein, will fit this bill. A nutritional profile of this recipe is available.

This salad will help you get in some of your vegetable servings along with a nice portion of lean protein. Both of these are a great combination for weight loss. You can try other protein options for this salad such as grilled chicken breast or tuna. A great time-saving tip is to double this salad recipe so you have leftovers for lunch or a snack. Don't forget to save this recipe to your Nutrition Data Pantry.

Hi LMZ - Fiber is important in our diets, especially when working on weight loss, because it helps keep you feeling full, which in turn prevents you from overeating.

There is a lot of mixed nutrition information out there and it can make it hard to decide what to follow. Listening to what your body tell you is the best way to decide what your needs.

Here at ND we look at the foods that are high in fiber (fruits, vegetables and whole grains) as foods that are all natural, real foods. These foods are healthy and provide us with energy, vitamins and minerals that our bodies need.

Thanks,
Dana

Thanks for this post. Can you please tell me what you think of "Fiber Menace"? I am very confused by the tone and the content of the book, and I highly the information coming from ND, so your input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
