Green Beer?

J0384780 Saint Patrick's Day is on Monday, but I'm sure a lot of people will be celebrating over the weekend.  What does one think of when contemplating St. Patrick's Day?  Green of course!  It is the one time during the year when beer drinkers celebrate with, yep you guessed it, green beer.  Is it moldy?  No, it just has food coloring added to it.

Not to sound too much like a nutritionist, but the food coloring is one more thing your liver has to detoxify.  And when you are trying to lose weight, the easier you can make it on your liver the better.  Not only is your liver focused on filtering out toxins, but it is trying to metabolize fat too.  However, if you are drinking beer, then (at that moment) you are not focused on losing fat.  That is okay too!  Celebrate the holiday and have fun!  Just practice moderation, drink water to compensate for the diuretic effects of alcohol, and get some exercise to help burn off the extra calories.
