Taunting Temptations

J0309680 You are at a party or social event. A table of hundreds of delightful treats are taunting you. How does anyone get through all this without gaining 5 more pounds before the first of the year?

Whatever you do don’t go to the party starving! This is probably the biggest mistake that weight watchers do. This is a set up. Eat regular meals during the day. You might want to "bank" a few calories during the day by consuming low-carb and low fat foods earlier in the day. Then when you go to the party take some time to really check the table out first, and decide what things you really you can't live without. You might want to fill up first on the more healthy items like salads, vegetables/fruits, and lean protein choices instead of automatically loading up on the higher carb, high fat, and dessert items.

To make sure that you will have something healthy and acceptable you might bring your own healthy low- fat, yet tasty dish. Frequently parties have all the high carb and high fat options but very little lean protein. I personally bring a leaner protein dish like marinated teriyaki chicken breasts.
