The Decision to Lose Weight
“I need to make a change. I need to lose weight.” Have you ever said that before?
After you said that, then what did you do? You started your new food plan and maybe you lasted a few weeks. Or, it’s also possible you didn’t do anything at all. So what happened?
Well did you make a firm decision to lose the weight in the first place?
Think about the word “decide.” One dictionary defines the word "decision" as, "come to the agreement, commit oneself to, make up your mind, to resolve..." To me the word "decision" also implies action.
When the time comes to do something about your weight, this choice isn't "a going along with" process. It's not just a desire, wish, or some faint willingness. There is no hedging and no wishy washy thinking about it. You follow through with the process no matter what. You "just do it.” This is the mindset of successful dieters.
